अगति के चार प्रकार हैं क्षिणोदर्क, भूमोदर्क, तृतीय अगति और चतुर्थ अगति। क्षिणोदर्क अगति में जीव पुन: पुण्यात्मा के रूप में मृत्यु लोक में आता है और संतों सा जीवन जीता है, भूमोदर्क में वह सुखी और ऐश्वर्यशाली जीवन पाता है, तृतीय अगति में नीच या पशु जीवन और चतुर्थ गति में वह कीट, कीड़ों जैसा जीवन पाता है। वहीं गति के अंतर्गत चार लोक दिए गए हैं और जीव अपने कर्मों के अनुसार गति के चार लोकों ब्रह्मलोक, देवलोक, पितृ लोक और नर्क लोक में स्थान पाता है।
